ABOUT THIS GOAL
Gender equality is a basic human right and the foundation of a peaceful, prosperous world. Women and girls still face discrimination, violence, and unequal pay, and they do most unpaid care and domestic work.
Goal 5 aims to end all discrimination and violence against women and girls, end harmful practices such as child marriage, value unpaid care work, and ensure women's full participation and equal leadership in political, economic and public life.
